New in 2024! UNC Charlotte Youth Workshops year-round
We can’t save all of the fun for summer, right? Introducing Youth Workshops at UNC Charlotte. Sprinkled throughout the school year, we’ve redesigned some of our most popular weeklong summer camps so they fit into one solid action-packed day.
The series begins with STEM-themed workshops for all ages on Saturday, March 23rd from 9 am – 2:30 pm.
-
Early Engineers (Grades 1- 4) Build a bridge with household items. Construct an hourglass. Design rudimentary electrical circuits. This hands-on workshop turns young tinkerers into real engineers for the day, strengthening their critical thinking and encouraging their curiosity.
-
DIY STEM (Grades 5 – 8) Designed for budding STEM enthusiasts, this DIY workshop doles out the tools and materials, then guides students through a series of mind-absorbing projects guaranteed to take them on a tour through the exciting world of STEM.
-
STEM Challenge (Grades 9-12) Game on! High schoolers will collaborate with their teammates to master a series of mind-boggling STEM challenges. It’s an electrifying workshop sure to charge up their interest in all things STEM.
Each STEM workshop will be held on the UNC Charlotte Main Campus and taught by either a UNC Charlotte professor or licensed K-12 teacher. Registration is $95 per student. Attendees will need to bring their lunches.
“We’re excited to offer Youth Workshops to the community,” said UNC Charlotte Youth Programs Manager Taylor Faulkner. “They’re wonderful opportunities for students to develop a new skill, learn more about a topic and make new friends.”
Check back often for new Youth Workshops scheduled on selected upcoming weekends and teacher workdays.
